Separated at birth?
One's a detective who uses psychic powers, the other's a detective who just uses the powers of his psyche (intuition + educated guess). They both also work with the recently, or not so recently, deceased ("deceased?") to solve crimes. And they both dress in spiffy black or dark clothes while doing so. Case in point: Grissom? Is that you?
This is really amusing and quite interesting in light of how the U.S. elections are shaping up. Others say a specific 86% precision. Maybe they can scrap the voting in November and divine the elections this way. Heehee.
Straw polls can't predict a presidential election. But Madagascar cockroaches can. The hissing insects ran in a cockroach derby held by the New Jersey Pest Management Association in New Brunswick yesterday. They have correctly forecast the winner of the White House more than 80 percent of the time. Find out which candidate won.

"How Many Words" by Blake Lewis on Idol Extra
Funny how I'm listening to this song for months on end on 103.5 MAX FM without paying much attention to it until I was thinking of something and this song came up in the playlist. The problem was I didn't have any idea who sang it because by then the radio station I was listening to was playing it to death and there was no need to always introduce the title nor the artist playing it.
That was until a couple, maybe three months ago, when I finally caught a quick mention of the artist, Blake Lewis. Call me a "Johnny-come-lately" (new kid in town, everybody loves you...) but given the fact that they're still playing it despite the fact that it's been already more than 6 months since it came out means I'm still in the loop. Right?

Something I picked up from PostSecret. It's always easier to just show it than explain things at length.

Francis Magalona diagnosed with leukemia, urgently needs blood donationsThose who cannot donate are urged to pray for strength, courage, and healing for him, his family and friends especially during this difficult time.
Bong Godinez
Philippine Entertainment Portal
PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) received information earlier today, August 13, that rapper-songwriter Francis Magalona has been diagnosed with leukemia and needs the help of blood donors.
Pupil band manager and Francis's good friend Day Cabuhat told PEP in a phone interview that any blood type and platelets will be accepted. [Subject to medical requirements, of course.]
"Donations may be made at the lower ground level of The Medical City in the name of Francis Magalona," relayed Day.
The Medical City is located along Ortigas Avenue in Pasig City.
Friends and relatives organized a blood donation drive to help the popular singer's cause. They're also asking friends from the media to spread the word regarding Francis's condition to encourage people to turn up and donate blood.
* You can also visit Francis' Multiply site and leave encouraging posts for him and his family also.

1. What do you want for your birthday?
A month-long celebration, a big budget for it, and old friends to share it with (especially those I haven't seen for a long time).
2. Who will be your next kiss?
My cat, Thoreau, or my yellow lab, Rocko. Probably.
3. When was the last time you went to the mall?
Last night. Then again I always hang out at the mall.
4. Are you wearing socks right now?
Nah.
5. How did you spend your summer?
Same as everyday, though we did go to Davao this year during the Holy Week.

Yup. Saw WALL•E twice in a row

Ice tea and chocolate shake from McDonald's.
8. What are you wearing right now?

Quarter pounder with cheese and the aforementioned drinks above.
11. Who would be the person you would call if you were up in the middle of the night and couldn’t sleep?
I can't think of anyone. Does it have to be a person?
12. Have you bought any clothing items in the last week?
No. I have to start prioritizing these.
13. Do you have a pet?
I have a small zoo here at the house.
14. What made you laugh in the last 5 days?
General silliness from watching the Pixar short, Presto

Probably a friend's house or Greenbelt (or somewhere like it) where I could just observe people do their own thing and not order anything.
16. What is the last thing you purchased online?
I forgot what it was but the most unforgettable thing would be an original full costume from the 1995 TV-movie, A Streetcar Named Desire, by my fave actor, John Goodman, from ebay (he got third billing after Alec Baldwin and Jessica Lange). To give you a general idea of the cost, I could have used the amount to buy a round-trip ticket to the U.S. Heck yeah, it's very much worth it but suffice to say I'm not bidding on any more item from ebay.
17. One thing you hate about yourself?
My depressive tendencies.
18. Do you miss anyone?
I miss all of my old friends from high school, I miss the old times mostly.

25. Where is/are your best friend/s right now?
They're all in the U.S. although there's a smattering of some here in the Metro.
That's it.

You gave me courage to believe
That all Your goodness I will see
And if it had not been for You
Standing on my side where would I be
If not for Your goodness,
If not for Your grace
I don't know where I would be today
If not for Your kindness,
I never could say
I'm still standing
If not for Your mercy, If not for Your love
I most likely would have given up
If not for Your favor,
I never could say
I'm still standing,
But by the grace of God.
To You I lift my offering
And set my heart on higher things
'Cause if it had not been for You
Standing on my side where would I be
If not for Your goodness,
If not for Your grace
I don't know where I would be today
If not for Your kindness,
I never could say
I'm still standing
If not for your mercy, If not for Your love
I most likely would have given up
If not for Your favor,
I never could say
I'm still standing,
But by the grace of God.
I'm still standing
I'm still standing
I'm still standing
But by the grace of God
If not for Your goodness,
If not for Your grace
I don't know where I would be today
If not for Your kindness,
I never could say
I'm still standing
If not for Your mercy,
If not for Your love
I most likely would have given up
If not for Your favor,
I never could say
I'm still standing, standing,
I'm still standing
But by the grace of God, Oh
But by the grace of God, Oh
But by the grace of God, Oh
But by the grace of God, Oh
But by the grace of God, Oh
But by the grace of God, Oh
But by the grace of God, Oh

It's Olympics time again and although I'm not a big fan of these events I thought it would be great to do a high school intrams storyline for the month. I don't know if they still hold these things today (I heard one school scrapped all athletic activities during recess and lunch so their students wouldn't catch a cold inside their airconditioned rooms, and I was, like, what the heck?!) one thing's for certain: any activity that disrupts the humdrum of academic studies once in a while is certainly fun and I wish I could turn everything back to experience what it's like to be in high school again.
