What to do next?
Got word of the next theme ("tomorrow") and deadline (March 15) for the next Komikero Komiks Anthology. It's the new year! No more last minute stuff! I can probably fit one of the existing stories I have in mind for this one... or probably do something new.

It's a Jolly Holiday in Antarctica
This was the picture from the i09 article, Strange Historic Photos From Antarctica and Other Kingdoms of Ice that caught my eye as something quirky without meaning to, I guess. Either the penguin doesn't care about the music it's hearing fom this stranger standing away from him or her or it's probably too scared to move. Or both.
But what if the penguins were swayed by the music? What if some birds showed some reaction and inexplicably danced to the music? Not like the ones in "Happy Feet" though. Ugh.
And then there were six:

This is an unpublished piece I submitted to the Komikero Komiks Anthology #9 which was slated to be released during this year's Summer Komikon but failing to reach the minimum number of submissions needed, the issue was postponed. The theme assigned was anything autobiographical whether an incident or anecdote each creator would like to tell a story of. I decided to go a different route, something I'd like to call metabiographical. It's not strictly a true incident that happened in the past but rather my views about online social networking. Inspired by an old Walt Disney animated short titled, Reason and Emotion:
It's something rather harsh but better the truth than hide behind something that's less than that. At least I think it's harsh. Anyway, this story would be included in the second edition of Hand Drawn, Quartered, & Other Tell-Tales to be released this October in time for the main Komikon event. The volcano in the Chilean volcanic chain, which was dormant for decades, erupted in south-central Chile on Saturday, belching ash over 6 miles (10 km) into the sky, as winds fanned it toward neighboring Argentina, and prompted the government to evacuate about 35,000 residents, authorities said.

After an unexpected delay in the schedule of the opening of the exhibit, Jomike Tejido, opened his second Robotars exhibit last night at the Vinyl On Vinyl
gallery in Makati. There's certainly a sense of fun and wonder when you
come in through the doors and its hard to feel otherwise with the
whimsical idea of a gallery full of creative ways to dress up a stylized
vinyl tarsier. The exhibits are set up on black painted pedestals of
different heights and while most of the pieces stand solo allowing
themselves to be viewed on the basis of the artists' interpretation. A
few of them include a tableau (diorama) or, in the case of one piece, included a blown-up custom-made colored comic page to accompany his piece.

The place was already packed when we arrived at the place which was also brightly lit. Guests were milling around the area glancing up around every now and then to see who else has arrived in between close scrutiny of their favorite statue.
